Then remove the door and use a straight edge and painter s tape to set up a perfectly controlled cut with a circular saw.
Hold the saw against the cutting guide and check the position of the blade s teeth.
Measure up the right side of the door to the bottom of the 45 degree angle cut on the top trim.
Cut with the blade on the right 45 degree angle.
Make the cut slowly.
The scored line will stop the splintering.
Forcing the saw can cause the door to splinter.
Measure across top of door and on the inside and add 3 8 inch to the measurement.
Mark the door for the cut.
