Hi channing yes the more of the stomach that has been removed or bypassed the more likely you would be to experience diarrhea and loose stools.

Dark stool or stool that looks black in color is not normal after surgery and often indicates bleeding in the upper part of the digestive tract. I have lost 10 2 lbs. The nurse said that it could be from the gas they used to blow up my stomach. I haven t been passing gas too much though but am hurting in my left shoulder.
