Dummy Pitched Roof Detail

There are two basic methods of pitched roof construction.

Mono pitched roofs are also known by the names of skillion roofs shed roofs pent roof and lean to roof. While the gabled roof is always pitched in two directions the mono pitch always slants in a single direction.

They differ considerably from the conventional gabled roofs in shape and construction. We try to help our clients in anyway possible. The minimum pitching or sloping degree for the roof is decided by the minimum slope necessary for excluding the roof covering and drain rainwater to eaves or valley gutter. It wouldn t need to be a full height roof and wouldn t look right if it was but maybe somewhere between 60cm and 1m vertical height so the actual size would depend on pitch. I d really like to improve the look of this by having a dummy pitched roof built around the perimeter of the box and blended back into the existing roof. A cut roof this is the traditional method of cutting the timber on site and building up the roof using rafters ridge boards joists and purlins etc the exact details being determined by the size of roof size of timbers etc.

Pitched roofs are generally provided with a pitch of about 20 degrees to the horizontal for slates and 40 to 60 degrees for tiles. The project is up to roof plate now.
